I am trained as an artist, psychotherapist and psychoanalyst. I attended the Minneapolis College of Art and Design and earned my graduate degree from Santa Clara University. I have been a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist since 1991 and completed my certification in psychoanalysis from the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.

Formerly, I was the Executive Director of the Center for Healthy Development, a community mental health agency specializing in the impact of high conflict divorce on children. I also served as the President of the Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology (NCSPP) - the Bay Area chapter of Division 39 of the American Psychological Association.

My creative senses help me to listen closely to what is being felt under a person’s confusion and discontent.
